After all, there is an extra layer of air between your concrete floor and the living space itself. Also, the carpet has a higher decorative function. A carpeted room looks and feels warmer when you walk on it. You can buy carpet everywhere, but you must have it professionally installed. Only then will you enjoy your new carpet for years to come.

In that case, an additional price will always be included in the price per square meter of the carpet you have bought. After all, there are still costs associated with installing carpet, even if it’s only the material costs per square meter. However, an action where the carpet is laid “for free” is still cheaper than buying a carpet and then having it installed by the parquet installer.

How is the carpet installed?

To understand how the cost of laying carpet comes about, it is good to think about how carpet laying works precisely. You can choose to let a carpeted floor roll out over the subfloor. This can be done without finishing along the sides, which is the cheapest way. However, after several years, you see unsightly edges develop. If you have a seam in the carpet in your room, you will see it fraying.

How is the price tag for carpet laying composed?

The price tag of getting a carpet installed is determined by our choices when you outsource the job. We have listed them for you.

Choice 1: How big is the room where the carpet should be placed:

The room’s size where the carpet is to be laid largely determines the price of the installation. Not only is a space with fewer square meters laborious, with a standard width of 4 meters for carpet is also assumed. When a room is no more than 4 meters wide, the carpet can be installed without welding. That is always easier and cheaper.

Choice 2: If you opt for gluing:

You can choose to have the carpet glued completely. This ensures that your carpet will remain wrinkle-free for years. However, you will have to keep in mind that removing the carpet will become a more tedious job. The adhesive layer will not come off quickly when removed, so you often have to replace the subfloor and carpet at the same time. If you do not dread this, this is the most practical method. Also, when installing carpet on a staircase, general gluing is the only solution.

Choice 3: Choose local fixation.:

You can choose to have the carpet fixated only along the edges with tension bars. This is the most practical method if you ever need to replace the carpet. The tensioning slats, often along the baseboards of a room, are nailed slats that will hold the carpet correctly in place.
