You’ll also want to take the time to review and find out if they’re members of certain professional organizations that most of the higher quality and more experienced conservatory specialists are members of. Some professional organisations you’ll want to know they belong to are The Glass and Glazing Foundation, Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme, British Woodworking Federation, and the Federation of Master Builders. All of these organisations will have ways to ensure that their members work is of the highest quality and that they have a long and prove track record of high-quality work.

Get quotes from all types of conservatory builders.

It’s good to take the time to get as many quotes as possible from builders before you choose the one to build your home’s conservatory. Even consider getting a quote from one of the nationwide conservatory builders as well. We recommend that you get at least three, fully detailed quotes before you decide which builder that you’re going to have do the work on your home.

When you have the quotes together from the potential builders, review them thoroughly line-by-line to find out what costs they’re covering, or not covering among other things. Are they responsible for the removal of any demo materials? What materials are they using? Is the entire balance due up front?

Are they familiar with the planning permission and building regulations process?

When it comes to conservatories, most are exempt from needing planning permission as long as they are certain to adhere to some requirements around the size of the extension. There are some other restrictions that may affect the ability to build without permission.

It’s important that any builder you hire is familiar with the intricacies of these rules and regulations and can properly guide you throughout the process.

These are just a few of the things to be looking for when you’re considering hiring a builder for the conservatory on your home. Take a look at the ClickATrades conservatory listings for these things and more.
